Unemployment a Key Issue in 2012

Obama may have killed Osama, but that probably won't be the only thing on voters' minds next November.  According to a recent Gallup poll, the "Economy" and "Unemployment/Jobs" were considered the most important problems by 55% of Americans (http://www.gallup.com/poll/148001/Subgroups-Say-Economy-Jobs-Important-Problem.aspx).  With unemployment reaching 9.1% in May, jobs have become a major concern for both voters and candidates. Gingrich announces candidacy

In a Youtube video released earlier today, former House speaker Newt Gingrich announced that he will run for President - a move that he has been considering for the past few months.  He joins a Republican field that is still developing, with Tim Pawlenty and Ron Paul being the biggest names thus far.  Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee have yet to announce. Mitt Romney Announces 2012 Presidential Exploratory Committee

Former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 a candidate Mitt Romney has officially announced the formation of his 2012 Presidential exploratory committee. The announcement came in a YouTube video posted on Monday that was shot at the University of New Hampshire just hours after the presidential hopeful spoke to students on the campus. From the video's outset, Romney emphasized the importance of young people in the upcoming 2012 election. Refering to the UNH students he spoke to earlier, Romney said "Like young people all over the country, they wonder if they'll find good jobs when the graduate."

It is official: President Obama will seek re-election in 2012.  Earlier today, Obama filed the papers to start his campaign, and he has launched a brand-new website and promotional video. This is certainly no surprise.  Although Obama has faced some challenges during his first three years in office, he will make a strong push for a second term.
